The Reiki Symbols

Picture
Drawing, visualizing and using reiki symbols can deeply enhance any reiki healing session and can energize one's daily life.

These symbols unlock the flow of reiki and enhance universal life force energy surrounding them. Reiki masters become linked with these symbols for life and use them to amplify their abilities.

The reiki symbols act as a bridge between the healer and the recipient that connects both entities to their highest selves.

These symbols are activated  through drawing or visualizing these symbols onto the reiki recipient or drawing them in the air over the image of the person for a distance healing.

Many reiki healers imagine these symbols in glowing, divine white light energy.

Below are three main symbols used in reiki...

Cho Ku Rei

The Cho Ku Rei aka the power symbol of reiki is often referred to as "the light switch" as it is the activator for all the other symbols. This is the primary symbol of reiki.

This symbol breaks down into three parts;
CHO- to cut (to remove illusions in order to see the whole)
KU- penetrating
REI- universal and omni-present

This symbol is associated with physical healing, purification, energy cleansing and all around good vibes.

Cho Ku Rei meditation: Sit in lotus position with hands in gassho (prayer position) and imagine a white energy coming from your third eye in the form of the Cho Ku Rei- breathe into the power of this symbol, feeling it's energy becoming more powerful with each breath.

Sei Hei Ki

The Sei Hei Ki symbol is the symbol of emotional and mental balance. It is often used for purification, cutting cords, treating addictions, and helping with emotional issues such as fear, anger or anxiety.

Some people see this symbol as the waves of the ocean meeting the beach, others see the wings of a bird in flight.

The meaning of this symbol also breaks down into root parts;

SEI- birth (coming into being)
HEIKI- balance and equilibrium

In order to activate this symbol,  first visualize the Cho Ku Rei and then the Sei Hei Ki. Chant each of these 3 times, starting and ending with Cho Ku Rei

"Cho Ku Rei, Cho Ku Rei, Cho Ku Rei
Sei Hei Ki, Sei Hei Ki, Sei Hei Ki
Cho Ku Rei, Cho Ku Rei, Cho Ku Rei"

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen

The Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the distance symbol of reiki. This symbol as well as reiki energy is known to transcend space and time. This can be used to send healing energy to the past, future or to the present across the Universe.

This symbol represents timelessness and shows that energy has intelligence and will flow wherever it is needed.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is often used when working with childhood trauma and past life regressions.

This symbol is also believed to be a key to the Akashic records- the source of all sentience.

To activate this symbol, first invoke the Cho Ku Rei and Sei Hei Ki and then visualize this symbol while chanting
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen three times, ending with a chant of Cho Ku Rei.
